A very busy week kept me from getting this uploaded sooner! We got some decent videos and good photo or two. Enjoy!

Caidy and I took off early Tuesday afternoon and after almost four hours (to go about 60 miles) we made it to the Quarter House in New Orleans to stay the night and see the Saints carry the Lombardi Trophy Mardi Gras style through the streets of New Orleans.

We stood with a friendly crowd at the intersection of Canal and Camp. It was cold, so we stayed warm with a not so nutritional combination of alcohol and funnel cakes. The parade was slow moving with a pretty long route, but it was fun.

We Tivo’ed the game and the ringing church bells and volume of noise in Houma gave away the surprise. We couldn’t help it, and just had to drive out to see the reaction. This is Academy Sports around 10:30pm Feb. 7th, 2010 in Houma, Louisiana.

I just keep thinking that my parents were there in Miami, screaming.

I’ve wanted to do this since we moved into this house in Houma. It’s a quick walk down the block on Saints Superbowl Sunday to see the Krewe of Hyacinthians and Krewe of Titans parade through Houma. We live about two blocks from the main parade route.

Although the krewes always have a theme when they roll, judging from the noise of New Orleans Saints themed music and endless “Who Dat” chants into the night, the Superbowl is the theme for this weekend.

I’ve had way too much excitement about computer cables lately. First it was the Firewire 400 to 800 adapter because our new MacBook doesn’t do Firewire 400. Now I’m giddy because I don’t have to go through the complicated process of removing my iPhone from it’s Otterbox case to dock with the stereo, car, etc.

I actually have a junky half working Kingston car charger with auxiliary audio jack that uses the same size iPod connector the 3GJuice “Finally There” Cable (Amazon) uses. Only that cable and the standard Apple sync cable will fit the 30 pin connector when the iPhone is in the Otterbox case.

It works for me since I’m pretty clumsy and I need to protect that expensive iPhone. The only problem is that this case solution has burned up almost $100 bucks of Christmas money.

Who Dat Gear

Who Dat Gear

This past Martin Luther King Jr. holiday we went to Fleurty Girl in New Orleans to pick up some Who Dat gear. Caidy scored a Boutte Call shirt, Mom got a Who D@! shirt, and I got the #whodat hashtag shirt.

We’ll have some proper attire for the Saints this weekend although I appear a little bent (not quite heterosexual) for the photo.

The Endymion doubloon featuring Tom Benson.

We named her Mardi since we’ve lived in Mardi Gras country for over 7 years (At least it’s the French word for Tuesday and not Fat). She was adopted from the Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter on January 8, 2010. Caidy picked her out over the holidays, but it was almost two weeks of waiting since she had to go to New Orleans for shots and neutering.

Mardi was born November 20, 2009. She’s a Shepherd/Unknown and we have no idea about the Unknown part. I guess we will found out soon enough. Pretty smart for a little puppy and starting to get the house-breaking thing. I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this one.

Fate the 12 year old cat has given her a provisional “thumbs up”. The other two cats are still thinking about it.
